Colonel Stanley has passed on to me your letter to him of the 19th October regarding Mrs, Curwen's
pension clain.
I am afraid that the root of Kra. Surwon's difficulty is that she (not unnaturally!) has been rother confused by the official use of such teres AÐ 'activa military sirvice* In addition to her Widows
PÅSKIDANJË and Orphans pension, she alteady drawn - pension under the long rong¿tantekr Ordinance on the ground that her husband died 'on actual military service' within the meaning of that Ordinance; and apparently argues from this that he died 'on estive military service"
within the meaning på the legislation, of the United Kingdom, and cannot understand why the home
authorities will not grant her a pension from Imperial
funds.
The question whether she Can be granted any pension
from Imperial funds is not one for this Office, and is
presumably
